Sex Addiction

Sex addiction may or may not be a formal addiction. The addiction recovery community remains divided, not only over the parameters of sex addiction, but also over whether or not it even exists. Sex Addiction is also known as sexual compulsion, compulsive sexual behavior, hypersexuality, erotomania, nymphomania. Many experts also file pornography addiction under it.

Sex Addicts behave similarly to one another in the sense that they engage in reckless sex. This can be anonymously and/or with multiple partners. Sex Addicts also engage in sex with prostitutes or other sex workers. Many sex addicts masturbate excessively and use pornographic materials to the point where the viewership replaces social interaction with both friends and partner.

Sex Addiction impacts on the workplace and home life, most importantly with one's spouse. It can destroy a marriage and leave irreparable scars.
