Prescription drug addiction involves the addiction to a known legal substance that needs a prescription. There are three major areas of prescription drug addiction. They are as follows:

Amphetamine Addiction

Amphetamines are a group of prescription drugs used to treat attention deficit disorder and other attention and behavioral conditions. Amphetamine addiction can happen under the nose of even the most experienced health care professional. Here is a list of common Amphetamines:
  • * Amphetamine (Adderal)
  • * Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat)
  • * Methamphetamine (Desoxyn)

Benzodiazepine Addiction

Benzodiazepines are a type of psychoactive drug typically given to treat conditions such as anxiety and insomnia. They have a tranquilizing effect on the central nervous system. Benzodiazepine Addiction cuts across all groups and ages, affecting more and more people every year. The following are commonly used Benzodiazepines:
