Percocet Addiction

Percocet Addiction is caused by a dependency to the prescription drug Percocet. Percocet is an opioid that is formed from a mixture of oxycodone and acetaminophen. Percocet Addiction can set in three weeks after the addict originally begins to take Percocet.

Just like other prescription drugs, Percocet Addiction is becoming a serious epidemic. Of course most addicts become so by accident, falling prey unassumingly to the power of Percocet. This is what makes it such a bizarre situation. Doctors in an attempt to help those that are in pain actually cause a much more serious ailment: Addiction.

Percocet Addiction Signs

Signs that someone has become addicted to Percocet are:
  • *Taking medication when it is not needed
  • *Rapid increase in the amount taken
  • *Doctor shopping in order to get more Percocet

No matter if a person purposely creates a Percocet Addiction (due to an addictive personality) or falls into one by accident, outside addiction treatment is necessary. In most cases an addict's doctor is the first person to go to in order to know what to do.
